Musik and Music

Musik, musik, musik!  Yes, I know I spelled it with a k instead of its usual c, but that's because I felt like spelling it different.  Just like all the numerous bands out there today they all have something different to offer.  But it all starts the same way.  Someone has to write the lyrics, devise the tune of every instrument involved in said songs, practices to be held, records to be sold, money to be made, and fun to be had performing.
Musik is alot like real life.  If we don't decide which pattern to make in our life, or which one to break, whatever the case may be, we won't arrive to the final conclusion of being happy or accomplishing our tasks for the day.  Take for instance, when you first awake in the morning, are you a ballad, country, rock, or hip hop type of person.  What music gets you going?  Depending on which one  you are, usually carries over into the rest of the day, UNLESS you are like me and you can fit them all into one day :)  I prefer rock (all types), but I can dig some hip hop/rap, not much as its not like the stuff from back in my day :)
I thrive on the sounds of music, whether it be from a band or from natures harmonies.  I may not be able to listen to it as loud as I used to, but I still make it a point to "hear" and "feel" the beat.  All this helps aid in how the day will progress, entering into the devising of the day which is alot like tuning the instrument for your song.  Do you want to have a mellow kind of day or an all-out day?  Or can you incorporate both to make it a smooth, flowy transition into the enticing back beats of a tune?  If you can do both, you'll experience an awesome day, filled with all sorts of upbeats and skipping the oh-so-ugly down beat trends that might have easily occurred, if allowed.
Life's musik and the sounds of music teaches us that we must all practice to keep on going so we may achieve our ultimate goal in life....our dreams to be fulfilled.  Without practice, we will never become perfect.  Now mind you I don't think anyone is any better than another person, what I am referring to is the old adage of "practice makes perfect".  By practicing you know what to throw out to keep going to improve.  Improvement to the point of getting something perfect is just about what everyone strives to achieve.  Just don't let it go to your head, especially if you surpass the other person trying to achieve the same goal.  In fact, lend a helping hand, if at all possible.  However, there will always be some people, myself included ;), who prefer to do things on their own until they get it just right.  Its called controlling my own destiniation and getting that "fix" I need knowing that I was able to do whatever it was.  Let's put it like this, my daughters make the comment that mommy gets shit done haha.
Now we all know we have to make money in order to spend money.  Its alot harder to save the moola, since this has become a time for where alot of people are more materialistic than in days by-gone.  But, to make my point about having fun....if we sock a little money away for a day, we can go back to it, collect it and go on that fun filled trip or get that album we've wanted for so long.  Anymore, it takes alot more time to make a little bit of money than it does to spend it.  Kind of sickening isn't it; but, that's how it has worked for years.  So, although I admit its hard to save my own money, I am actually trying to save up for a once in a lifetime trip.  Of course, I will have to conquer that fear of flying, but that's not going to be for a while, since it'll take a huge chunk of change to be able to visit the countries I want all in one swoop.  But a gal can dream right ;)
Ah, musik and music so much alike and yet it still has its differences; albeit minor ones.  Just got to know which way you want to go, what "beat" you march to, the types of tunes you allow to enter into your ears to "hear".  Certain types of rock music have been thought to be a bad influence, but have you ever listened, I mean really listened to the words.  Some of the songs are there to help people release a negative day, you feel your blood pumping, helps you work out, or release the ugly energy that encompassed them that day.  Say you get irked off at someone, and instead of throwing a punch, you turn up some Five Finger Death Punch, Metallica, Pop Evil, Ratt, Sick Puppies, or whatever suits your fancy.  When you've cranked that song, all that energy melts away and you've entered the music scene.  Its an amazing feeling, when you can force that out and then start bringing in the smooth tunes, then beginning to intertwine them.  Now lets say you want to continue that smooth day you've had, you might enjoy tunes anywhere from Jimmy Buffett to Mumford and Sons to even your local bands.  Supporting the local bands, and individual performers not only helps them but it also helps you.  You're in the group who got to hear when the band first started getting their notice before they hit the major leagues....and you can say Hey I know those people, they're awesome!! (See the links below for my support of two locals, ones a band- Wedgewood Brothers- and the other is an individual-Tommie Orr- see I'm doing my part ;) ).
Just remember folks, the two types of music/musik is involved in every part of our day.  Embrace it, work with it, mold it, shape it, live with it, and most of all ENJOY IT!  Let's not forget to groove or for you younger generation dance to the music in your life :)
Live long and live happy.  Until the next post, enjoy your melodies of life and your musical tunage of your personal preferences!
